Department of L&I: Speed Demons

Back in April of 2006, I wanted to put a fence up in my backyard. So, I wrote a letter to the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Licenses and Inspections to find out what kind of permit I needed and what the fee would be. I also sent them the necessary $50.00 Filing Fee.

Soon after, I found out on my own that I didn’t need a permit for erecting a fence, as long as the height was 6 feet or under. So, I was good, and my dad and I put it up.

Ten months letter I received a letter from the Department of L&I, giving me the go ahead to put up the fence for $25…Ummm, ten months? Thanks L&I. You guys are tip top.
