Dogfish Head Punkin Ale

September 14th, 2008 Posted in Products, Pub & Grub

I recently splurged on a case of seasonal beer, as I’m a big fan of pumpkin ales. There were a few to choose from, but I settled on Dogfish Head Punkin Ale. This is one of those beers that is a meal in a bottle, weighing in at 230 calories and tasting like a decadent dessert. Pumpkin, brown sugar, nutmeg — it is like a slice of pie tinged with 7% alcohol.

So far, it goes great with watching the Phillies tease my hopes and dreams, and watching Dan In Real Life. I really recommend this beer if you’re looking for a seasonal local sweet tasting brew filled with the sensations of autumn. At roughly $44 a case, it’s steep, but it’s f-ing once a year, right? Yum, indeed. “Get Your Gourd On!”, as the bottle says.
