Importance Of Askimet

About six weeks ago, I updated my Philadesigns web site from WordPress 2.5 to 2.7. That’s right, I entirely missed the 2.6 experience, for my site at least.
Well, I neglected to install the Askimet plugin until today, which was a HUGE mistake. All that I have to say is, if you set up a WordPress site, install Askimet immediately. I had over 2,800 SPAM comments that infiltrated my site, and dummy me didn’t set up any email notifier that this was going on…until now of course.
So, now I’m deleting SPAM comments, rooting out the actual good user based comments from Viagra jibber jabber. Good times!
