Today, my son Wes is 7 months old. He celebrated by going to Trader Joes with my wife and pointing at things for her to buy. Luckily, my wife is a photographer and loves to take lots of in-action shots of him during the day while I’m at work. I love seeing what I miss out on when I get home and he’s just about to conk out and sleep…until 5:00am…when he starts crying and all I want to do is sleep. One day, our schedules will be aligned.
The first place we ever took Wesley to was Trader Joes in Jenkintown. He was a big hit, but my wife kicked it up a notch this time. Above, he’s wearing his Jeff cap and a jacket that makes him look like a cab driver. Of course, he’s sitting on his new padded shopping cart cozy that we recently got at our newly frequented store: Babies R Us. Not sure if the design goes with his cabbie look though.
Speaking of Trader Joes, my wife and I are addicted to many of their products, particularly their Ginger Almond and Cashew Granola cereal. It’s extra heavy on the Ginger. Give it a shot.
Why have multiple browser tabs open when you can access email accounts, IM, and social networks all from one desktop app? Because you’re used to it, of course, and don’t know about this amazing app from Digsby, available for Windows and coming soon to Mac and Linux. Might need to install this soon.
Looking for a cool new free app for the holiday season? Check out this app called Strum. It will transform your iPhone or iPad videos into a music video with your choice of filters, music, and vocal effects. This is like Instagram for videos, but with added tunes and attitude, all randomly synced to the rhythm of the music.
Twitter’s new photo editor is soon to be available, allowing you to enhance, crop, move & scale, as well as apply one of many filter options. Check out the animation below to see how it works.
Are we over-documenting our lives with mobile phone cameras? Why, yes! This parody by CollegeHumor.com points this out with hilarious perfection. I love Instagram, Hipstamatic, and plain old unfiltered iPhone snaps as much as anyone. I even am old school enough to have a pro Flickr account that dates back to 2005. Next time you’re photographing that blueberry scone at Starbucks, it might just be better to sit back, relax, and enjoy the view and conversation.
My cousin and West Chester, PA native, Ryan Hughes, starred on 20/20 this past Friday in a gym membership segment. Ryan, who now lives in New York City and runs Hughes FIT, debunks and validates the personal trainer lifestyle and gym members “paying by the pound”.
We donned Wes up in his hysterical elf outfit and headed to the Willow Grove Park Mall a couple days ago so that he could meet Santa. When we arrived at Santa’s gate, there was a sign stating that he’d be back in an hour. Luckily, Wes is a little mall rat, and on this third trip to the mall, he enjoyed the sites and sounds as he waited. The mall is really a massive mobile for him, with all the hanging tapestries, oversized ornaments, neon lights, and variety of sounds. We ended up with this tear-free shot!

As much as I like the occasional binge on some raw super foods, Thanksgiving is all about cooked, smoked, baked, broiled, and even deep fried seasonal delights. The comedy duo Tricia and Johanna poke some serious fun out of the raw food diet on their latest video on Funny Or Die. Happy Thanksgiving!
If you’ve ever been to an upscale or art enthused coffee shop in the city, you’ll truly appreciate this other video from Tricia and Johanna, called “Coffee Snobs”.
